The Weekly Wrap Up 20 to 25 July

All the Major Tech Break Throughs, Policy Shifts and News, From 20-25 July 2025

Here’s last week’s wrap-up, we apologize for the delay, but here are all the headlines from the past week which we will explore and give you quick run down on all of the highlights

Many of these headlines are repetitive, so I will mention them but I will not bore anyone with excessive repetition.

1) OpenAI Unveils ChatGPT Agent (July 20)

OpenAI has rolled out it’s new AI agent mode, known as ChatGPT Agent, which can act on a person’s behalf; browsing the web, booking appointments, and making purchases autonomously. It follows the reports that OpenAI’s newest reasoning model achieved a “gold medal” level performance at the International Mathematics Olympiad. GPT-5 is rumored to launch soon with a modular, routed architecture. Just for info’s purposes, routed architecture is a smart design where only specific parts of the model (called “experts”) are activated based on the input. Instead of using the whole model every time, GPT-5 routes each prompt to the most relevant experts, saving computing power and boosting efficiency; this approach allows GPT 5 to be faster, more powerful, and specialized in handling a wider range of tasks like writing, coding, or reasoning. Think of it as a team of specialists where each one does a specific job and is only called upon for the right job.
